摘要 This book is the first academic monograph in Spanish dedicated to the study and translation of certain type of oral narrations from the aboriginal peoples in Australia, and which I call myth-legends, because as I argue in the book, the most peculiar characteristic of these texts is that they are myths and legends at the same time, since they share all the characteristics of both. This idiosyncrasy of the myth-legends of the native Australians is perhaps unique in the world. After the theoretical study, I proceed to make a transcreation, or literary translation, which preserves the essence of these oral narratives. The texts come from ethnographic collections collected among professional singers, which I have compared with other sources to rule out the texts with no parallel in the great collections of Alexander Wyclift Reed and Roland Robinson. The myth-legends, with their introductions and notes, have been classified following anthropological patterns. After them, I have added a glossary of aboriginal terms that appear in these texts. The last fifty pages are an informative translation into Chinese of the first part, carried out by two specialists from Tamkang University, in order to bring these readings closer to the Chinese-speaking public for the first time, and no just a selection of literal translations from Reed´s works.
