摘要 Studies on Didactics of Spanish in Taiwan constitutes the first volume of the series Hispanic Studies in Taiwan, published by Taiwan-based Catay Editions (佳台書店) under its Taiwanese Universitas collection. As its title suggests, this inaugural monograph is devoted to the theory and practice of teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE) in the Taiwanese context. That is to say, the works that comprise it, although framed within the ELE field, are linked to the specific Chinese-speaking learning environment. The teaching-learning of Spanish in the Chinese-speaking sphere, in its different geographical areas and modalities, has a long history and remarkable strength. However, in the last thirty years it has undergone extraordinary development, not only in terms of teaching, but also in terms of research. As of today, the bibliographic references on this domain reach more than one thousand, as it is included in the SinoELE database (www.sinoele.org). Although the topics studied, the perspectives addressed, and the methodologies applied are abundant and heterogeneous, the territory still to be discovered and explored is enormous. The chapters that this book contains are, in this sense, an outstanding contribution to this investigative mission, carried out by some of the main students of the teaching of Spanish in Taiwan. Each of them provides a comprehensive and qualified analysis of an aspect linked to the specific field at hand.
