摘要 Due to scarcity of drinking water, researchers are eager to provide a safe, low cost and energy-efficient way to obtain clean water from seawater. Capacitive deionization (CDI) for desalination has advantages of low energy consumption, low operational cost and environment friendly. In this work, Ag@C or Cu@C core-shell nanoparticles dispersed on graphene (rGO) has been employed as CDI electrodes for desalination and simultaneously disinfection. The desalination efficiencies of the Ag@C/rGO and Cu@C/rGO electrodes for CDI are 35% and 28%, respectively. In the first 2-h, the Ag@C/rGO electrodes increase the disinfection ability from 87% to 100% while 70-84% of disinfection ability for the Cu@C/rGO electrodes can be obtained. It is clear that the Ag@C/rGO and Cu@C/rGO electrodes performed in the CDI of seawater also have the disinfection ability.
