摘要 本研究透過開放式創新與吸收能力的觀點，探討一個新創小型企業，在新之不利、小之不利的條件下，如何管理由外向內之開放式研發創新的過程。實徵上，本文採用單一個案研究，探討千才這家年輕的科技公司，在2003～2011年間，從原先以光纖通訊為主要產品，轉而開發LED美容燈與光面膜，進入醫療照明美容市場的故事。亦即，當創業家的人際網絡開啟機會辨識後，組織將會取得與消化多元的外部知識，特別是參加群聚聯盟、與研究機構合作及申請政府計畫等三類專業資源，進而將之在組織內部進行轉化與創新運用，以開發新產品，進入新市場，並帶動組織成長。 This study draws on the perspectives of open innovation and absorptive capacity to examine how an entrepreneurial small-sized firm, under the conditions of liability of newness and smallness, manages the process of inbound open R&D innovation. Empirically, I use case study research and focus on a young technology firm- Liverage, during 2003-2011. The process of open R&D innovation which Liverage went through is from fiber-related products to LED bio light and mask. That is to say, after the entrepreneur identifying opportunities via personal network, the organization would acquire and assimilate the diversified external knowledge, particularly including cluster, research institute, and governmental funding. The organization would further transform and explore them, then develop new products and enter new market for organizational growth.
