摘要 Modern foreign language teaching and the way of learning a foreign language are quite different than before. The former has evolved from solely textbook-based instructions to the current more effective teaching with the help of audio and video resources. These multimedia tools provide instructors with richer as well as more lively classroom environments. Consequently, the students, being exposed to better and more colorful environments, can easily absorb the essence of foreign culture and learn foreign languages and cultures more efficiently. As a result of the popularization and advancement of computer technology, the internet has become a major convenient tool for information hunting and for learning foreign languages. However, for their conversation classes the instructors should investigate how to properly select and use multimedia materials which can reinforce students’ motivation and hence improve the efficiency and quality of learning. 今日的外語教學與學習方式皆有別於昔日：從依賴書面文字之傳統授課，進而有教材錄音帶與錄影帶之輔助，直到當今資訊科技以及多媒體技術之快速發展，不僅為教師提供了更豐富的教學資源，也帶來了更生動的輔助工具。相對地，也為學習者營造了更多聽外語的環境、看到多采多姿的影像、吸收到文化之經髓，因而擴大學習外語語言文化知識之管道。 隨著電腦科技的發展與普及，網際網路已成為大眾搜尋資料與自我學習的最便捷之方式，外語學習也不例外。但是，教師應該思考如何選擇與會話課程相關的多媒體資源再將它運用在課程裡，以強化學生的學習動機、提昇學習效果並提高學習品質。
