摘要 | In recent years, severe weather has induced impact on the aircraft take-off and landing phases, and we focused on analyzing aerodynamic influences under heavy rain condition and its physical phenomena. To understand the realistic configuration during the take-off or landing phases, recent NASA Trap-Wing model was chosen as the test case in here. Combined Eulerian-Lagrangian approach of Discrete Phase Model (DPM) was used to simulate the two-phase flow for the heavy rain situation. Our simulation also took surface roughness effect into account to more closely simulate the performance of passenger aircraft. Effects of liquid water content, angle of attack and wing span on the distribution of the surface water film are also discussed. Current work reveal that the lift would reduce in heavy rain at any AoA and the drag would increase when the AoA is between 5 to 20 deg, but it will decrease further at higher AoAs. Also this configuration’s lift-to-drag ratio observed reduction at all angle of attacks. Based on our fin finds, the heavy rain will postpone the stall angle of attack, and the stall phenomenon will become less drastic. |
