摘要 | This paper proposed the buck converter with a high transient response. This control scheme is derived from the current mode control (CMC) architecture to further improve its transient performance. The advantages of the converter are as follows: (a) Superior transient response. The recovery time for step-up/step-down is within 1.6 μs. (b) The structure of the scheme is simple and easy to implement. (c) For an input voltage of 3.0–3.6V and output voltage of 1.0–2.5V, the converter maintains a constant switching frequency. This feature solves the EMI issue in applications. (d) Although the proposed scheme is derived from the CMC architecture, it does not require a current sensor. The control topology, analysis, operation principle and circuit realization of the converter are presented in this paper. In the future, the proposed circuits can be fabricated by UMC 0.18 μm 1P6M CMOS processes. |
