The part about theory is a general review of the literature and its applicability in terms of pedagogy. The part about practice is devoted to an examination of EFL writing samples to ver· ify claims in contrastive rhetoric studies and what is to be adopted in teaching paragraph structure in classroom settings. Contrastive rhetoric and its differe nt implications are discussed so as to define its pedagogical applications in teaching
