Therefore, how to implement IPv6 in WASN becomes a critical research issue. In addition, because WASN is designed to run for long periods of time, how to reduce power consumption is another important research direction. For WASN, in which some sensor nodes may be allowed to move, an architecture for integrating IPv6 over Low power Wireless Personal Area Network (6LoWPAN) with Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6) is indeed one solution but the handover latency of PMIPv6 still needs to be further improved.
