摘要 | This work proposes a novel, multidisciplinary theoretical framework for understanding literary genres, particularly the novel, through the lens of chaos and string theories. Historically, knowledge across disciplines was integrated, but modern hyper-specialization has created artificial divides between the sciences and humanities. Drawing from polysystem theory and cultural planning, the authors advocate for a reconnection through an eclectic approach grounded in empirical and perceptual realities. Central to this proposal is the *universal chaological model*, inspired by eleven-dimensional astrophysical theories, which classifies literary genres as dynamic, chaotic systems. The novel is understood as orbiting around chaotic attractors, with *fear*—metaphorically conceptualized as a strange attractor—serving as a central, structuring force in artistic creation. The second section analyzes theories of fear, tracing its aesthetic and philosophical treatment from classical to contemporary theorists, notably Delumeau, Freud, and Lovecraft. The study culminates in a multidimensional descriptive model based on 48 selected works, employing a deductive method. The model uses a representational table that categorizes artistic expressions along axes of horror and terror, intersected by three experiential perspectives: the Self, the Other, and the Other-Self. Ultimately, the study aims to offer a flexible and innovative tool for literary genre analysis, bridging theoretical gaps and encouraging interdisciplinary dialogue. |
