The traditional view is that exporting can lead to increased productivity by facilitating access to the global market and, thus, information and cutting-edge technologies. This process has been explained by the learning-by-exporting theory, which is supported by mixed empirical evidence. A semiparametric estimation method was used to measure firm-level productivity and examine the contingent impact of exports on productivity. On the one hand, the exporting firms exhibited significantly higher productivity and faster growth than the non-exporting firms. On the other hand, the effect of exporting on productivity was dependent upon firms’ innovation behavior. Therefore, the learning-by-exporting effect is contingent on a firm’s innovation capabilities. Only sufficiently innovative firms could actually experience faster growth through exports and innovation. For non-innovative firms, exporting could even result in decreased productivity. This paper successfully reconciles the mixed findings from the existing literature and explains why both positive and negative evidence can simultaneously and reasonably exist under learning-by-exporting theory.Learning-by-exporting · Productivity · Exports · Innovation · Chinese manufacturers

3 109/1 產經系 劉家樺 副教授 期刊論文 發佈 學歷和主修領域對薪資影響--以「台灣青少年計畫」為例 , [109-1] :學歷和主修領域對薪資影響--以「台灣青少年計畫」為例The Effect of Diploma and Major on Earnings - Evidence from the Taiwan Youth Project劉家樺經濟論文叢刊 48(4),頁611-669本文使用「台灣青少年計畫」,檢視學歷和主修領域對薪資的影響。薪資的衡量爲第一份和最近一份工作時薪。在考慮三種大學類型下,學歷分爲未上大學、大學(私立、一般國立和頂尖國立大學)、研究所(私立大學、一般國立大學和頂尖國立大學研究所),主修分成「人文社會農」和「理工醫」。發現:(1)在未考慮主修領域下,同等學歷中,一般國立與私立大學的薪資無顯著差異,頂尖國立大學的薪資高於私立大學;(2)相同大學類型中,學歷的提升對薪資有正向影響。在考慮主修領域下,前述結果仍多數成立。(3)最高學歷的大學類型才對薪資有影響之效果。(4)在未考慮主修領域下,同等學歷中,不同大學類型在轉職薪資變化上無顯著差異,而研究所轉職薪資變化高於大學。即使考慮主修領域,這些結果仍多數成立。頂尖國立大學;主修領域;薪資;收入不均等
4 108/2 西語系 劉莉美 助理教授 期刊論文 發佈 馬尼拉閩南語文獻《西班牙—華語辭典》 與西班牙傳教士高母羡 , [108-2] :馬尼拉閩南語文獻《西班牙—華語辭典》 與西班牙傳教士高母羡A Study on the Manila-Minnan Manuscript Dictionario Hispanico Sinicum and the Writings of Spanish Missionary Juan Cobo劉莉美漢學研究 38(2),頁 215-236西班牙傳教士首以中國文字著書介紹西方科學、完成中國翻譯史上第一部譯為西方文字的漢文古籍,並先行研究中國音韻學、完成閩南語、西班牙語與中文三語辭典等成就。如此豐碩功績著實給後世累積了一批珍貴史料,在中西接觸與交流對探究中國語言史研究上有極大貢獻。西班牙道明會收藏於馬尼拉聖多瑪斯大學檔案館的《西班牙-華語辭典》(Dictionario Hispanico Sinicum)抄本,此手稿內文含西班牙文、漢字及閩南語羅馬拼音等超過兩萬條詞彙,為研究十六、十七世紀菲律賓華人文化、中西交流與閩南語史重要參考史料。由於抄本編者與年代不明,探究其編纂年代有助了解其語彙史料的歷史定位,故本文將整理西班牙歷史文獻的相關紀錄,及現有學者的研究論述,進一步分析辭典可能編者及年代。此外,於探究《西班牙-華語辭典》過程中,發現辭典中文詞彙來源與西班牙漢學家高母羡(Juan Cobo,1546-1592)三本著作有關聯性。故本文首先透過辭典抄本例證,說明與這位十六世紀末道明會教士著作相輝映的關係,推論辭典詞彙年代可上溯至早期天主教於菲律賓傳教時期。再者,藉由辭典引用早期宗教專有名詞譯文的取捨,探究天主教道明會十六、十七世紀語言傳教策略,並歸結《西班牙-華語辭典》為該會從菲律賓進入中國的轉型文獻。高母羡;《西班牙—華語辭典》;早期閩南語文獻;翻譯史;中西文化交流史

Each component failure can equally induce higher loading on the surviving components and, hence, enhances the hazard rate of each surviving component. The applications of CDS and the reliability evaluation of CDS has earned more attention in the recent two decades. Because the lifetime quality of components could be inconsistent, the lifetimes of components in the CDS is considered to follow heterogeneous baseline Gompertz distributions in this study. A power-trend hazard rate function is used in order to characterize the hazard rate of the CDS. In order to overcome the difficulty of obtaining reliable estimates of the parameters in the CDS model, the Bayesian estimation method utilizing a hybrid Gibbs sampling and Metropolis-Hasting algorithm to implement the Markov chain Monte Carlo approach is proposed for obtaining the Bayes estimators of the CDS parameters. An intensive simulation study is carried out to evaluate the performance of the proposed estimation method. The simulation results show that the proposed estimation method is reliable in providing reliability evaluation information for the CDS. The T2-MAE chart is composed of two memoryless-type control charts and the MS-MAE chart is composed of one memory-type and one memoryless-type control charts. The normality assumption of error terms in the nonlinear profile model for both proposed control charts are extended to a generalized model. An intensive simulation study is conducted to evaluate the performance of the T2-MAE and MS-MAE charts. Simulation results show that the MS-MAE chart outperforms the T2-MAE chart with less false alarms during the Phase I monitoring. Moreover, the MS-MAE chart is sensitive to different shifts on the model parameters and profile shape during the Phase II monitoring. Of late, multirotor drones have become particularly popular, and all drones have been increasing in popularity. Unlike a fixed-wing drone, failure of motors in a multirotor craft may cause safety problems. Numerous published articles have proposed solving this problem by redesigning the control law or control gain. This approach, however, is difficult to implement because change of control gain usually involves connecting external devices. It is categorized into four histological types: papillary adenocarcinoma (PAC), tubular adenocarcinoma (TAC), mucinous adenocarcinoma (MAC), and signet ring cell adenocarcinoma (SRC). Effective differentiation of the four types of adenocarcinoma will greatly improve the treatment of gastric adenocarcinoma to increase its five-year survival rate. We report here a large-scale/simultaneous isolation of taxon-specific crystallins (ɛ- and δ-crystallin) from the eye lenses of Mule duck. We also investigate the compositions, enzymatic activities, and structures of these purified taxon-specific proteins. A relatively mild method of ion-exchange chromatography was developed to fractionate ɛ-crystallin and δ-crystallin in large amount, ca. ∼6.60 mg/g-lens and ∼41.0 mg/g-lens, respectively. Both cryst

Four plenary speakers and 14 invited speakers, from France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Taiwan, and United States, presented their research findings in TISRS in front of an audience of more than 200 participants from 12 countries. Thirty‐seven posters in biology and material sciences were exhibited at the symposium. Following TISRS, five experts delivered lectures to students in the summer camp. The mission of this congress was to promote continuous developments and applications of Raman spectroscopy, with a focus this year on surface‐enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), tip‐enhanced Raman spectroscopy (TERS), imaging methods, and their applications to molecular, biological, and nanomaterial sciences. This meeting also served as a platform for junior researchers to exhibit their recent studies. In this report, we highlight novel findings and perspectives in Raman spectroscopy that emerged in this symposium. In the definition of the coverage region, the Euclidean distance was used, which is not suitable for measuring the length of a route between two places. This study improved on the previous one by redefining the coverage region for practical application and providing a simulation model to verify the effectiveness of the proposed ambulance allocation method. SERS was applied to the analysis of catechin and it was found that the relative abundance of catechin in the sample to citrate-capped AgNPs and the aggregation agent NaCl plays a critical role in the quality of detection. At a component volume ratio of 6:2:1 (catechin:AgNPs:NaCl), catechin can be detected at µM levels. When the ratio is 12:2:1, Raman signals are discernible even at the attomolar concentration level (10−18 M). Under these conditions, the SERS mechanisms and the force of laser tweezers function best. The extent of signal enhancement enabled an ultrasensitive and reproducible Raman spectroscopic determination of catechin.Raman spectroscopy;Citrate-capped AgNPs;Aggregation agent;Attomolar detection

Raman spectrum of proteins provides characteristic information regarding molecular interactions of peptide residues. Hence Raman spectroscopy is a promising tool for the study of protein-related diseases, such as cataracts. Both adsorbates became available on the zeolite and were several fold more concentrated after a simple adsorption process, contributing to a 10-times overall increase in the collision probability between the two adsorbates. We were further able to detect AgNP-induced Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) of catechin on the zeolite after sequential depositions of AgNPs and catechin on the zeolite using this process. However, to identify a specific compound in a mixture sample of natural products using Raman spectra alone is highly challenging if not impossible. We demonstrated an effective solution to such issues using a method combining statistical Raman spectroscopy and Mass spectrometry. The method was validated with a successful application to the identification of the major anthocyanin components in a purple yam (Dioscorea purpurea) extract.
