The empirical results suggest that if a country with IPR protection strength equal to that in Chile increases its IPR protection to the level similar to Taiwan, then the Taiwanese MNEs’ likelihood of R&D offshoring to that country will reduce by 2.1%. This result lends support to the prediction of Gersbach and Schmutzler (2011, Oxford Economic Papers 63(1)).en國外SSCI;Po-Lu Chen是AUS

By analyzing wholly-owned investment and equity joint venture in vertically related industries, I find that as IPR protection gets more stringent, the propensity to choose equity joint venture decreases. Analysis of the firm-level data set from Taiwanese multinational manufacturing enterprises (MNEs) in 2006 lends supports to this result. This paper also finds that local welfare increases after entry of a multinational enterprise (MNE) if the local market size is not too large. In

The estimation results suggest that if a country with an IPR strength similar to the level of Chile increases its IPR protection to the strength of Taiwan, the probability of forming JVs in that cou

In this study a novel ownership protection scheme based on visual cryptography and the law of large numbers is proposed, where 2 phases, namely an ownership construction phase and an ownership authentication phase, each with 3 steps, are designated to illustrate how it works. In our scheme, two pixels at a time are selected randomly from the host image, then compared with the other and the results determine the corresponding content of the shares. The law of large
