| 摘要 | This paper reviews the Trump administration's North Korea policy, including factors contributing to the reconciliation as well as the challenges and perspectives of Pyongyang's denuclearization. The paper argues that the smooth conclusion of the Trump-Kim summit on June 12, 2018 marked a strategic adjustment in the Trump administration's North Korea policy from ＂strategic patience＂ to a new approach of ＂maximum pressure＂. However, Washington will examine Pyongyang's actions and commitments at every stage and give feedback comparable to the progress of denuclearization, including sanction relief, aids, and other political and diplomatic incentives. It would be a long process. Uncertainties and risks are high. How sincere will Kim in carrying out its denuclearization promise remains the key issue for the Northeast Asia situation and Trump's equation in the region. |
